Rav Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, also known as the Ramchal, was a genius and a mystic who made a significant impact on our people. Despite his immense expertise, he felt compelled to write Mesillas Yesharim, a seemingly straightforward text that emphasizes the fundamental qualities needed for improving one's relationship with God. Why? While all aspects of Torah are crucial, the ones that help us grow and align ourselves with God's will are the most vital. Similarly, the Sfas Emes al HaTorah may be renowned for its original ideas, kabbalistic teachings, and enlightening interpretations, but its primary goal is not merely intellectual understanding. Its concepts are meant to empower us with the characteristics necessary to fully serve Hashem. As a result, everyday topics such as trust in God, prayer, Torah study, Grace after Meals, reward and punishment, exile and redemption, and more are explored - shedding light on deeper levels of comprehension.
